Hantédemos
Theremespare - Film - 22min - 2024
presented as part of the exhibition Panorama 26

In 2019, I bought a phone that systematically geolocated me in a green zone in the Morvan region [Burgundy]. Instead of looking for a rational explanation, I decided to go to this mysterious place, which I did in the summer of 2023. In the meantime, a narrative labyrinth had developed around it all, mingling with the post-Covid mindset.
Theremespareis an esoteric heterotopia invented by a TikTok influencer, in which the narrator, filming in POV mode, becomes obsessed and dissolves the boundary of their phone screen in a process of narcotic consumption of forms of escape from the contemporary world, alienated by capitalist realism and the vortex of the digital.
Theremespareembodies a desire for transcendence, a treasure hunt and a glitch in the disconnected life of the queer-artist protagonist.
Theremespareis also a set of Google Maps coordinates, which he pursues through layers of metamorphic fantasies and illusions.
The film is a treasure hunt, seeking a reality (the truth?) that is always bolting down rabbit holes.
